Newark, NJ was insane!

I think we wanted to get out of Newark, NJ as soon as we could. Although, dad was having stomach issues, he chugged along with a good pacer. Everyone is starting to feel tired. We have been up for more than 25 hours. But, it's difficult to complain with someone who is running 150 miles!

Good bye, Elizabeth. Hello Newark!

We had some tough time in Elizabeth, NJ. Dad had some stomach issues so he couldn't run much. Resting seems to help a bit, however, it didn't last too long. We got some meds to calm his stomach down. Let's see how long we can keep the pain down. Next stop, Jersey City.

It's all fun and games until the sun goes down. Dark roads are becoming a huge hazard for the runners. We are using precautions to help out the runners with lights. I wish cars would slow down and go around the runners.

Dad is running solo from here and on. Thank you David and James for helping my dad out up to this point. Weather is still not cooperating with us. It is still pouring and wind is not helping with the run. He is still marching on, but rain is taking a toll on his stamina. We will keep close eyes on him. Wish us luck!

More support group

This our rear crew helping us with traffic blocks and support. It's a tremendous help to have an extra crew to help us out.

Rebel without a cause? I think not.

Why would anyone want to run 120 miles? Of course, I can drive 120 miles in 2 hours flat obeying the speed limit. But, I can't even fathom running such a distance in just one day! My dad is not just running the distance to prove that he can do it. He has proven to us many time before, i.e. Vermont, Colorado, California, etc.

My dad is a proud Korean who appreciates his roots. He is dedicating his run to honor someone who is very important as a Korean-American. Seo Jae-pil (anglicized name Philip Jaisohn) is the first Korean-American acquiring citizenship of the United States. He was an integral part of establishing independence in Korea and convened the First Korean Congress which was held in Philadelphia. He was also the first Korean to earn western medical degree in the U.S. and wrote the first Korean-English dictionary. He is the Benjamin Franklin who professed the ideal of independence and exercised his intellect to progress our lives. This is his cause.
